GUINEAS
RIDGWAY GUINEAS
Guineas destroy insects in the garden and protect the farm flock from
intruders. Their meat is tender and fine flavored. Under good
management the average live weight of young guineas is 2 1/2 pounds
when just 13 weeks old. A well managed hen will lay 100 or more eggs a
year. If there is a member of the poultry family which is hardy,
almost self-supporting at maturity and subject to almost no disease if
would be guinea fowl.
FRENCH GUINEAS
If well managed, birds will mature in 11 weeks and will be ready for butcher.
Dressed guineas are plump with dark meat. Day-old keets should be
fed a 24% protein ration feed and this should result in a 4 lb. bird.

field commands, fast maturity, short flush flight, quiet disposition
and easy brooding characteristics make this bird an outstanding
